Abdullah Öcalan’s call was read in Arabic at the Tishrin Dam, boosting morale and hope among the people at the resistance vigil.
Abdullah Öcalan’s historic message was read aloud everywhere on February 27, 2025. His message resonated throughout the Middle East and the world, creating a wave of hope and optimism.
While the occupation forces of the Turkish state and their allied militias continued their attacks on the Tishrin Dam, the message was read on the 54th day of resistance as a statement of defiance. The people at the resistance vigil received it with great enthusiasm.
After the message was read, the fighters chanted 'Bê Serok Jiyan Nabe' (No Life Without the Leader), 'Bijî Serok Apo' (Long Live Leader Apo), and 'Long Live the İmralı Resistance' while dancing in celebration.
The resistance fighters at the dam shared their thoughts and feelings regarding Öcalan’s historic call with ANHA.
Til Temir resident Mihemed Salih stated: "I listened to Mr. Öcalan’s message. It filled me with great enthusiasm and motivation, bringing peace to my heart."
Emphasizing that many significant developments are expected to follow this historic message, Salih added: "With this call, I hope that the attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria will come to an end and that the current suffering and issues will be resolved."
Nazlî Hesen, a resistance fighter from the city of Hesekê, stated that they had been waiting for a message from leader Öcalan for a long time. "This message brought us great happiness and created immense hope in our hearts," she said.
Expressing that their morale and joy stem from Mr. Öcalan, Nazlî added: "There is a need for change and transformation in the Middle East, which is why Öcalan’s call is crucial. In Turkey, the identity and culture of the Kurdish people are denied. For the resolution of existing issues and to achieve our rights, I hope that the Turkish state takes concrete steps."
