People of Afrin celebrate Newroz in Shehba
The people of Afrin who were forced to migrate to Shehba during the Turkish state invasion in Afrin celebrate Newroz with enthusiasm.
It has been a year since the invading Turkish army occupied Afrin in March 2018.
The people of Afrin continued their resistance in the Shehba region for a year, and today on March 21 they rushed to the Newroz grounds in the Elewsha village.
The celebrations started with martyrs’ mothers lighting the Newroz bonfire at 11:00 and continue still. The people of Afrin and Shehba are celebrating this year’s Newroz with the motto, “break the isolation, free Afrin”.
