People in the district of Dirbêsiyê in Hesekê Canton took to the streets on Wednesday to protest against the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan.
During the course of the march from the Xerbi neighborhood to the Sherqi neighborhood, residents displayed banners reading “Bê Serok jiyan nabe” (No Life Without the Leader) and photos of Öcalan.
Speaking at the rally that began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the freedom struggle, Rihan Loqo, Spokesperson of the women’s movement Kongra Star, stressed that the people of North-East Syria would remain in action until Abdullah Öcalan’s physical freedom is achieved.
Condemning the isolation regime imposed on Abdullah Öcalan, Rihan Loqo called on people and women to rise up against Öcalan and to unite around Öcalan.
The rally concluded with the slogan “Bijî Serok Apo” (Long Live Leader Öcalan).
