People of North and East Syria continue their protests for Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The Council of Martyrs’ Families organised a demonstration in Tirbespiye city of Qamishlo Canton in protest at the aggravated isolation regime executed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The protest march through the streets of the city was followed by a rally where demonstrators condemned the Turkish state and said that the fire that erupted on Imralı, where Öcalan is held, was deliberate.
Addressing the crowd here, Heyf Haci from the Council of Martyrs Families stated that the aggravated isolation imposed on Öcalan aimed at breaking the will of the Kurdish people. Haci remarked that Öcalan has been allowed a visit by his family but this rare visit didn’t develop trust in the Turkish state.
Haci called on the United Nations and international organisations to adhere to their mission and take action immediately for the isolation of Öcalan to end.
