People have taken to the streets today in North-East Syria to protest against the Turkish state’s occupation attacks and to pay tribute to the martyrs of the 14 July Great Prison Resistance.
QAMISHLO
In Qamishlo city, masses marched from the Qermuti Square to Mihemed Şexo Cultural Center, chanting slogans that commended the prison resistance, demanded freedom for Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and vowing to end the occupation.
Speaking here, Şemsixan Gulo from the Council of Martyrs’ Families said; “The resistance of Ali Çiçek, Hayri Durmuş, Akif Yılmaz and Kemal Pir continues. The ideas of Leader Öcalan are crucial for the future of Kurdistan and the Middle East.”
TIRBESPIYÊ
The Council of Tirbespiyê organised a demonstration to protest against Turkey’s genocidal attacks and to pay tribute to the martyrs of the 14 July 1982 Great Death Fast.
The crowd staged a march from Kongreya Star office to the building of Syrian Revolutionary Youth Union, chanting slogans against Turkish occupation.
Addressing the crowd, Tirbespiyê Council co-president Ebdulrehim Hiso and Syrian Democratic Council (MSD or SDC) executive Ebas Hisên said that the Turkish state ignored the will of peoples and called upon the international community to take action against the crimes committed by Turkey in the region.
HOL
In the town of Hol (al-Hawl) in Hesekê Canton, people protested against the Turkish state’s attacks, war crimes and crimes against humanity, and called on the international community to break their silence.
During the rally at the town center, Hol Council co-president Sacîda Hesen denounced the Turkish state’s attempts to divide Syria.
Sacida said Turkey’s acts trampled on international law and highlighted the fact that peace in the region could only be established through the unity of peoples.
Sacida called on the international community to stand against Turkey’s crimes.
PYD member Mustefa El Ehmed stressed that they were struggling for all peoples and condemned the Turkish state’s crimes against peoples.
