Preventing Hesekê from access to water is crime against humanity

Manbij Intellectuals Union co-chair Ehmed al-Yusif said: “The special war attacks carried out by the Turkish state in Hesekê are actually nothing short from a crime against humanity."

The occupying Turkish state and its mercenaries have been preventing drinking water from reaching the Hesekê Canton for nearly a month.

Leaving millions of people without water, the Turkish state and its mercenaries are trying to show the Autonomous Administration as responsible for this and try to cause confusion in the region by turning water into a special war tool.

Talking to ANHA about the issue, Manbij Intellectuals Union co-chair Ehmed al-Yusif said: “The special war attacks carried out by the Turkish state in Hesekê are actually nothing short from a crime against humanity. Even war between states has a law. However, the Turkish state is committing crimes against humanity by not recognizing any law or treaty. Access to drinking water is the most fundamental right of every human being. The Turkish state is taking away this right from millions of people.”

Yusif called on the international community to take responsibility and stand against the Turkish state's failure to recognize treaties and laws, and demanded that the Turkish state be stopped.
