Raqqa’a Baghdad Gate captured by SDF

SDF fighters seized the Raqqa’s Baghdad Gate in old city from ISIS gangs.

Fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are continuing an operation to liberate Raqqa for the 93rd day.

The fighters of the SDF took control of the Baghdad Gate in Raqqa's old city. With closing the Baghdad Gate, the SDF has taken now control over the entire historic wall. Now the SDF has total control over the gateway of the ISIS gangs in Raqqa city.

The Baghdad Gate, which is fortified with iron, was restored by the Syrian regime in the 1980s. It is about 30 meters high. In addition to that having now the Baghdad Gate in their hands, the road leading to Raqqa's old city has been brought under SDF control as well.

ISIS ENCIRCLED IN MIRUR AND EL BERID

The combatants of the SDF encircled ISIS gangs in El Berid and Mirur neighbourhoods. Local sources report that many ISIS positions were captured by SDF.

On the western front, the Mirur neighbourhood and on eastern front Rewda neighbourhood are about to be liberated. Local sources say that its a matter of time until the Palace of Justice in the Mirur neighbourhood gets freed either.
