Tabqa Civil Administration celebrates 6th anniversary of liberation from ISIS

Tabqa Civil Administration celebrated the 6th anniversary of the liberation of the city, paying tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs.

The city of Tabqa was liberated from ISIS mercenaries on 10 May 2017. The citizens of Tabqa city center and rural areas celebrated the 6th anniversary of the liberation of the city with a special event.

Thousands of citizens from the city center and rural areas, guests from Manbij and Raqqa, representatives of the Democratic Civil Administration, women's offices and committees, opinion leaders from the tribes, military and civil assemblies, political parties and youth movements attended the event. The celebration was held at the sports center west of Tabqa.

Speaking here, Culture and Art Center Member Amir Inad greeted the attendees.

Speaking on behalf of the Tabqa Democratic Civil Administration, Legislative Assembly co-chair Huda El Ewan said: "We salute and pay tribute to our people on the 6th anniversary of the liberation of Tabqa from ISIS gangs."

El Ewan said: “The invading Turkish state's attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria aim to destroy the Autonomous Administration. The invading Turkish state wants to revive ISIS."

The fight will continue until we ensure security in the region

The co-chair of the Military Council, Abdureuf El Îsa, stated that every year, when celebrating the liberation, they pay tribute to the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), People's Defense Units (YPG) and Women's Defense Units (YPJ).

El Îsa continued: "Every year, we reiterate our promise to follow the path of the martyrs and continue our struggle until we achieve security and peace in Northern and Eastern Syria and in the region."
