TEV-DEM calls for international action against Turkey’s crimes

"Turkey has become a state where crimes against humanity are committed as a result of the criminal policies pursued by the AKP and MHP regime," stated TEV-DEM, calling for international action to stop Turkey’s crimes.

In a written statement on Friday, the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) in North-East Syria urged the international community to uphold their “moral obligations by defending the people's will against the risks posed by invading Turkish fascists who carry out terrorist assaults against mankind.”

Urging the international community and the guarantor governments to clarify their stances in the face of Turkish state aggression and ambitions to deepen its perilous occupation in the region, TEV-DEM stated the following:

“Turkey’s efforts to re-establish the Ottoman state under the pretense of preserving national security have become a political problem that concerns the AKP government in Turkey and the international community as a whole.

This is also a result of the AKP government’s loss of its politics, economics, and its power struggle against international and regional community policies. The Turkish state, which is trying to profit from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine due to its role in NATO, has expanded its attacks on the region.

The Turkish criminal regime's leadership's constant statements and threats to construct a safe zone along the border and within occupied Syrian land demonstrate the fascist regime's weakness, which can no longer survive the difficult stage it is going through. Political fascism, on the other hand, is coming to a close end. The most dangerous crimes against humanity and nature are being committed in the "safe zones" in Afrin, Serêkaniyê, and Girê Spî that Erdoğan talks about.

Deceptive diplomatic and political arrangements, like the Astana negotiations attended by this fascist administration, as well as its visits to many countries in the region and around the world, are aimed at gaining support for a massive war against the Kurdish people's will. At the same time, it seeks to undermine the region's security and stability while also serving terrorism worldwide. It also intends to consolidate and expand its invasion in Syria, Iraq, and maybe other neighboring countries.

Turkey has become a state where crimes against humanity are committed as a result of the criminal policies pursued by the AKP and MHP regime. The world community is likewise disturbed by the Turkish state's crimes. This predicament also jeopardizes Turkey's future. Future governments will be held accountable for Erdogan's crimes in international courts. They will run away, just as they fled the genocides committed by the Ottoman state against the peoples.

We in TEV-DEM call upon the people of the region to consolidate their unity and solidarity as a whole. We encourage you to join us in defending the region's values and achievements and opposing the atrocities perpetrated by the invading Turkish state and its mercenaries.

We urge the world community to uphold its moral obligation to protect the will of the people from the threats posed by invading Turkish fascists carrying out terrorist assaults against humanity. However, the international community remains silent on the Turkish state’s brutal actions. This leads to a breakdown of trust between society and international organizations.

On this basis, we urge the international community and the guarantor states to clarify their stances and uphold their moral responsibilities. We urge you not to remain silent in the face of Turkish state aggression and ambitions to deepen its perilous occupation in the region."
