The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) called for increasing the resistance against the chemical attacks by the Turkish state in line with the revolutionary people's war.
The TEV-DEM released a written statement against the chemical attacks of the invading Turkish state.
The statement said: “The recent events showed that the UN, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the international community are not serious about fighting against the use of nuclear and chemical weapons and preventing their spread.”
The statement continued: “There are companies that produce banned weapons in some countries. Media reports revealed that the Turkish state has used banned chemical weapons hundreds of times. At the same time, the international community and all relevant institutions are aware that these weapons are being used. The silence of the international parties encourages the invading Turkish state to use these weapons against the guerrillas who promote human dignity and values. Most recently, 17 Kurdish fighters have been killed.”
Protest against silence of international institutions
The statement said that “the fascist Turkish state used chemical weapons in many occupied regions such as Afrin and Serêkaniyê including the Medya Defence Zones. The Turkish state resorts to phosphorus and banned chemical weapons each time they are defeated by the guerrilla forces. This is a serious crime and genocide against our people and our will. The Turkish state must be punished. The use of heavy weapons, warplanes, drones and all banned weapons has emerged as a reaction to the heroic guerrilla resistance.”
The statement continued: "“We strongly condemn the silence of the international community and institutions such as the UN and the OPCW towards the crimes of the invading Turkish state.
We must spend all our resources on protecting our achievements and values, we must adopt a national attitude to organizing ourselves and raising our level of resistance based on the principles of the revolutionary people's war. Because this is the only guarantee to protect our values and will.”
