TEV-DEM denounces Turkey’s ongoing genocidal attacks despite earthquake disaster

TEV-DEM said that the Turkish state carried out its genocidal plans with a dirty war despite the earthquake disaster, calling for action against the increasingly ongoing attacks on North-East Syria and Shengal.

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) released a written statement concerning the Turkish attacks on North-East Syria and the Yazidi town of Shengal (Sinjar) in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

TEV-DEM stated that the Turkish state paid no attention to humanitarian and moral values and pursued an inhumane policy against the peoples of the region.

“As always, the invading fascist Turkish state continues its terrorist attacks against the peoples of the region, disregardful of the lives of people who have been hit by the recent earthquakes,” the statement said.

The statement continued: “The AKP government and its vicious partner MHP are scheming against the peoples of the region and Turkey, taking no account of their will. The AKP-MHP alliance pays no mind to the earthquake disaster and disregards the customs and traditions that shape human manners. This terror government has not suspended its dirty war against the will and culture of the peoples for a second.

The Turkish state targets the values of the people of the region through drone attacks and intelligence networks. It wants to activate terrorist cells from Shehba, Qamishlo, Kobanê, Aleppo to Shengal. As a result of these attacks, many civilians and fighters fell as martyrs. The attacks prove that the invading Turkish state continues its policy of genocide against our people who resist these attacks.

We urge the International Coalition states, which emotionally follow the humanitarian tragedy that followed the earthquake, not to remain silent in the face of the attacks of the invading Turkish state against the peoples of the region and Shengal.”
