Worldwide, everything revolves around the crisis management of the coronavirus pandemic. Rojava, which has so far been spared from Covid-19, is also trying to protect itself, albeit with limited means. As part of the prevention measures, another quarantine centre has been set up in Kobanê should any suspicious cases arise.
The quarantine centre was set up by the health committee of the Euphrates region in cooperation with the "Aktion für verfolgte Christen und Notleidende" (AVC, Action for persecuted Christians and people in need) based in Nidda in Hesse and is located in the village of Helence in the south of the city. The relief organisation provided 50 beds, two ambulances and medical equipment.
Work on the completion of the project was intensified in order to be ready as soon as possible to receive people who tested positive for SAS-CoV-2. A team of four doctors and six nurses will be working in the quarantine centre.
There are now also two coronavirus testers in northern and eastern Syria. The devices were sent by Nechirvan Barzani, the president of the South Kurdistan autonomous region. The General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi Kobanê, thanked for the help from Hewlêr (Erbil).
