Thousands protest against international conspiracy in Kobanê

Masses protested against the October 9 international conspiracy and vowed to frustrate the conspiracy and occupation attacks.

Thousands of people took to the streets today to protest the October 9 international conspiracy against Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and the anniversary of the Turkish state’ genocidal attacks against Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain) and Girê Spî (Tal Abyad).

Gathering at the Free Woman Square, the people of Kobanê staged a march with images of Öcalan and banners against isolation and occupation.

The march where people expressed their anger at the occupation attacks of the Turkish state, was followed by a rally at the Martyr Egid Square.

Speaking here in the name of the women’s organizations in Kobanê, Almaz Romi said; “The date of the anniversary of international consoiracy and occupation attacks against Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî is no coincidence. The Turkish state has launched genocidal attacks as part of planned policies. The attacks and the conspiracy aimed at annihilating the identity of the Kurdish people.”

Speaking after, Kobanê Canton Council Co-president Mistefa Eto said; “The conspiracy conducted against Leader Öcalan 20 years ago is repeating itself today. The Turkish state is attacking each place where peoples are giving a freedom struggle. With our resistance, we will frustrate the Turkish state’s occupation policies as we have frustrated the conspiracy.”

The demonstration ended with slogans.
