Agriculture and Livestock Directorate of Girê Spî Canton co-chair, Abdullah Al Xetab, told ANHA: "Turkey raises the water level in a conscious way. Hundreds of hectares of land were flooded and farmers suffered great damage. At the same time, hundreds of families' houses were flooded."
According to El Xetab, the occupying Turkish state raised the water level, damaging the cultivated farmland for over 14 kilometers from the village of Pira Sharian to the village of Zehla in the southeast of Girê Spî.
Zîbîqyayê Xatûn woman from the village of Al Hamad was one of those affected by the rising of the water. "Water level increased and the water arrived in the middle of the village. My house and 45 hectares of cultivated land have gone under water."
