Turkish backed gangs attacked Kurdish neighbourhood in Aleppo

Turkish backed gangs based in Kefr Hemra town attacked Kurdish neighborhood of Aleppo with mortars.

According to local sources Turkish backed gangs fired mortars to Shexmeqsoud neighbourhood of Aleppo. Attack started at midnight and continued 1.5 hours. Residents reported more than 30 mortars hit Muxaneret Street. No casualties were reported.

YPG and YPJ forces responded the attack with heavy weapons.

Shexmeqsoud is the Kurdish majority neighbourhood of Aleppo. It’s under YPG’s control since the early days of civil war in Syria.

A local said the situation is tense but no clashes occurred between two sides since the mortar attack.

This is the first attack of its kind after Syrian regime forces liberated eastern neighbourhoods of Aleppo from so called Free Syrian Army.
