The Turkish army continues its shelling of Rojava/Northern Syria, focusing its attacks on villages in Şehba and Şêrawa, Afrin.
Turkish artillery shelling on the regions of Şehba and Şêrawa, Afrin resumed at 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday. In Şehba, the villages of Umm al-Hoş and Umm al-Qura were attacked. At least ten howitzer shells struck the targeted areas.
At the same time, the village of Aqîbê in the Şêrawa district of Turkish-occupied Afrin was also attacked. Eight howitzer shells hit the village.
Such widespread, indiscriminate attacks on the civilian population constitute war crimes that should be punished under international criminal law. However, the international community remains silent on the attacks. This gives Turkey the leeway to escalate the attacks further and further. According to Turkey's announcements, a large-scale invasion is imminent.
