Internationalists in Rojava express their solidarity with people in their countries and emphasize the importance of social solidarity to counter the pandemic.
Tekoşer comes from France. He is part of the international fighters in the Freedom Battalion in Rojava. He receives military and ideological education and also learns Kurdish. He tries to follow what is happening in France with the coronavirus outbreak, but he says he cannot get much information. "The government maintains the state of emergency and uses exceptional laws for greater control. As far as I know, early measures were not taken and hundreds of people lost their lives because of infamous health policies." Tekoşer points out the importance of organized solidarity.
Mirko is Italian. He came to Rojava in September 2019, he has been there for 8 months. He participates in social and military activities as a healthcare professional and as a fighter. Being in the epidemic period and the war zone further increases his responsibility, he said. Mirko salutes the efforts of the Italian people against the coronavirus epidemic.
He says: "Don't give up your efforts, be strong. Together, we will beat the coronavirus. Here in Rojava we are in solidarity with Italian people."
