People's Defense Units (YPG) Press Office has released a statement about the ongoing attacks by the Turkish army and affiliated gangs against Rojava for the last 7 days.

The statement referred to the intense artillery shelling by the Turkish army and gangs acting under Turkish command which reportedly left 7 civilians injured, one critically.

YPG statement read as follows:

"On 24.08.2017, gangs affiliated with the Turkish army attacked the villages Ayn Daqna, Belûniyê and Maranez in Shera district with DShK fire, and shelled the villages Basûfane in Efrîn Canton's Shêrawa district with mortars. At the same time surveillance aircraft belonging to the Turkish army was flying over Shera district.

On 25.08.2017, the gangs bombed hill Baz and hill Barîn in Efrîn Canton's Cindirêsê district with rockets.

On 26.08.2017 at 02.30, the Turkish army and allied gangs attacked the villages Ayn Daqna, Malikiye, al-Kamiye, Shêwarxa, Maranez and Belûniyê in Efrîn Canton's Shera district with howitzers. Our forces responded the attacks of the gangs and hit a position emplacement of the gangs in Kefer Xaer with howitzers. The position of the gangs have been destroyed, but clear details could not be obtained about the number of casualties.

On the same day, the gangs shelled Basufanê village in Efrîn Canton's Shêrawa district with mortars.

On 27.08.2017, gangs affiliated to the Turkish army shelled hill Baz and hill Barîn in Efrîn Canton's Cindirêsê district with howitzers, mortars, DShK weapons and BKC fire. Our forces responded to their attacks.

On 28.08.2017, the gangs allied to the Turkish army attacked Qestelê, Maranezê and Malikiyê hills in Shera district with mortars and DShK weapons. Gangs also attacked Basûfanê village in Shêrawa district with howitzers and B7 rocket fire.

On 29.08.2017, gangs affiliated with the Turkish army attacked Baz, Barîn and Bedran Hills in the region of Cindirêsê with mortars, and shelled Maranêz village in Efrîn Canton's Shera district with howitzers and DShK fire.

Furthermore at 22h, the Turkish army and their allied gangs bombed the center of Efrîn city and left 7 civilians injured, women and children included. One of the wounded is in critical condition. Our forces responded instantly to the attacks by the Turkish army and their gangs, and targeted the military base they set up in the hospital of Ezaz, as well as the military base of Kil Cibrîn.

Following the response of our forces, at 23h, the gangs started to shell again the villages of Maranêz, Shêwarxa and Ayn Daqna in Efrîn Canton's Cindirêsê district.

On 30.08.2017, the Turkish army and affiliated gangs attacked Haciza Xedamet hill in Shera district with mortars, on the hills of Baz, Îska and Barîn in the region of Cindirêsê with howitzers, and Basûfanê village in Efrîn Canton's Shêrawa district with SPC-9, DShK weapons and BKC fire. Concurrently, our forces responded the attacks of the gangs with mortars, howitzers and B7 rocket fire."
