Another attack repelled in Afrin

The invasion attempt launched by the Turkish army against Afrin yesterday (January 19) continues. Attacks of gangs are being repelled in several areas.

Attacks are ongoing as part of the Turkish state’s invasion attempt against Afrin and Shehba. Reconnaissance activity also continues in the region.

The Turkish army has deployed 10 tanks, 5 military vehicles and a large number of soldiers on Mercoq hill across the Baliya village in Bilbile district of Afrin, in Raco region.

Reports suggest that the Turkish army and gang groups have started digging trenches as of early Saturday morning. Turkish soldiers attempted to infiltrate Mount Gır in Bilbile district but their attempt was foiled by YPG fighters and they were forced to withdraw.

Last night’s attacks by the Turkish army had left two civilians wounded.

ATTACK ON SHEHBA DAM

On the other hand, gangs acting under the command of Turkish army are attacking the Shehba Dam and Tal Rifat town with howitzers.

Local sources report that the attacks are being carried out from the town of Mari.
