Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe: With "Jin Jiyan Azadî" to the women's revolution

The Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E) will carry out this year's activities for International Women's Day under the slogan ‘With Jin-Jiyan-Azadî to the women's revolution’. Hundreds are the events to be held in Europe.

The Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E) will carry out this year's activities on International Women's Day under the slogan ‘With Jin-Jiyan-Azadî to the women's revolution’. The umbrella organization which unites Kurdish women's groups from various European countries, pointed out in its call for participation in local activities in the week of 8 March that the women's struggle day is being celebrated at a difficult time for Kurds.

The TJK-E statement disclosed the planned activities in Germany, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium The statement said: “Our pain and losses are as great and unshakable as our determination to stand up against the forces attacking our right to life. Our reasons for struggle are more urgent than ever, as the ongoing alliance of male rule, the state, and capitalism has turned their attacks on women into a systemic war.

Fascism, dictatorships and the practices of multinational corporations, the new face of colonialism, intersect in attacks on women's freedom and the destruction of nature. From the outset, the internal conflicts of the hegemonic powers and the policies they pursue with excessive profit motives offer women and society no other future than war, migration, destruction, violence and poverty. They want to darken the sun of mankind. In all parts of the world there is a wave of exploitation and aggression fueled by male supremacy. From Afghanistan to Abya Yala, from India to Africa, women's resistance is rising across the world.”

We can only survive by resisting

The statement added: “Women are the strongest wave of this resistance. We know that we cannot live unless we weave our lives with resistance on a daily basis. We have said that capitalism and fascism mean a massacre of society. And, unfortunately, this statement was again confirmed by the earthquake that struck our country, Kurdistan, Turkey and Syria on 6 February. The AKP dictatorship and the politics of fascism have multiplied the consequences of the catastrophe. It became a crime against humanity. We know the dirtiest face of fascism through the screams of the women and children under the rubble and their annihilated lives. We have said that the male-dominated system leads to the annihilation of women. We know that from our country of Kurdistan.”
