Nobel Peace Prize winner and political prisoner Narges Mohammadi said that the Iranian state wants to make women who support freedom step back with executions and take revenge for the 'Jin Jiyan Azadi' resistance.

2023 Nobel Peace Prize winner and political prisoner Nargis Mohammadi participated in the meeting organized by the Delegation for Women's Rights of the French Senate and National Assembly via video.

Narges Mohammadi said that the number of prisoners executed in Iran is increasing and added that female political prisoners are in very bad conditions. She added that the Iranian state wants to take revenge on women for the 'Jin Jiyan Azadi' rebellion.

Mohammadi said that the Iranian state wants to make women who support freedom step back with the executions of Warisha Moradi and Pakhshan Azizi and added: "The Iranian regime is taking revenge on women for the 'Jin Jiyan Azadi' rebellion. Pakhsan Azizi and Warisha Moradi, who are being held in the women’s wing of Evin Prison, are now facing the threat of impending execution. The regime is using the noose as a tool of terror to break the resolve of Iran’s brave and conscientious women."

Muhammedi asked France to make the abolition of the death penalty the first and most important condition of any negotiations with Iran.
