In a written statement, the European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E) said that they would take to the streets in many cities on October 7 and 8 to condemn once again the anniversary of the 9 October 1998 conspiracy. The TJK-E called on all women and the Kurdish people to participate in the protests for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan "in the most effective and powerful way".

The statement said: "Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] has been fighting against the genocidal fascist Turkish state and the forces behind the conspiracy for 25 years, under the harshest conditions of captivity in history. Behind this 25-year struggle, there is a great reality of the people who continue to struggle with the belief that victory will be ours, no matter the cost. We remember with love and respect the Rotindas, Kurdês, Şaristans and Rojbins who formed a circle of fire with the slogan "You Cannot Darken Our Sun" against the conspiracy. We state that we will definitely ensure the physical freedom of Leader Apo with the spirit of struggle created by the Saras and Evins, who stubbornly fight and weave a free future at every step. Once again, we condemn the conspiracy and the conspirators with hatred, and we respectfully salute everyone who fights for this cause in the person of our heroic martyrs."

The statement added: "Contrary to the treacherous plans of the conspirators, the struggle front grew day by day in these 25 years, going beyond the borders of Kurdistan and spreading to the entire Middle East and the world. Of course, Leader Apo is at the center of this 25-year-old honorable struggle. Leader Apo determined a path of relentless struggle on behalf of women, peoples and humanity, with an attitude unique in history. He developed a unique, versatile resistance with his attitude that shocked his enemies and increased the admiration of his people and friends thousands of times in the Imrali torture system, which was completely structured according to intellectual and physical destruction. He analysed and exposed in his books the 5 thousand years of male-dominated history, the 500 years of capitalist modernity, the 200 years of genocide policies imposed on Kurdistan, the 100 years of denial-destruction policy and the deepening fascism of the AKP-MHP in all its philosophical, sociological, economic-political and political-military dimensions."

The statement continued: "With the special policy implemented in Imralı, the isolation system on Leader Apo is being developed as a system of torture against all humanity and all forces that want freedom. By violating all legal norms, the fascist Turkish state deepened this heavy system day by day and increased the genocidal war with it. It is the women, the Kurdish people, and humanity who are isolated here. Leader Apo's contact with the outside has been completely cut off for 31 months, there is a terrible isolation situation, and no information can be received about his health, safety and life. It is unacceptable that the CPT still ignores this situation. International institutions have remained silent so far and have not done what should be done against this system of torture and absolute isolation that Leader Apo is faced with. We condemn this silence of international institutions, especially the CPT, and call on them to fulfil their duties."

The European Kurdish Women's Movement renewed "our promise to expand our struggle until the aggravated isolation of Leader Apo is broken and his physical freedom is achieved. Leader Apo gave us the codes of living equally and freely in the struggle for the liberation of Kurdish women. We once again condemn the 9 October conspiracy and call on everyone to participate in the actions to be held on 7 and 8 October promoted by the TJK-E, all across Europe on the anniversary of the conspiracy. We call on all women, our people, everyone who believes in an equal and free life, to participate in the struggle for Leader Apo's physical freedom in the most effective and powerful way."
