Yazidi women from Afrin: Sleeper cells will end if ISIS is tried

Yazidi women from Afrin said the current process necessitates the trial of ISIS gangs in Northern and Eastern Syria, and added that the sleeper cells will end when ISIS gangs are put on trial.

After the ISIS occupation was ended and SDF’s great victory was declared, the Autonomous Administration and the people of the region started calling for an international court to be set up on Northern and Eastern Syria to put on trial the foreign national ISIS members captured by the SDF.

Qudret Betal spoke about the issue and said: “ISIS gangs have committed violent crimes in Shengal and Syria, against Yazidis and especially against women. The gangs abducted thousands of young women and sold them in slave markets.”

Qudret said the international community should work to set up an international court in Northern and Eastern Syria for the trial of ISIS members.

Meryem Cindo said: “The people of the region have long suffered at the hands of ISIS. What the gangs did was too vile to speak of. Afer their defeat here, the international community should support us in putting them on trial.”

“SLEEPER CELLS WILL END WHEN ISIS MEMBERS ARE PUT ON TRIAL”

Orivan Menan pointed out that the SDF has rescued hundreds of Yazidi women in their operations against ISIS and added: “The current process necessitates the trial of ISIS gangs in Northern and Eastern Syria. The sleeper cells will end when ISIS gangs are put on trial.”

Izdihar Sebri pointed to the demands of the Northern and Eastern Syrian people and said: “It is a legal and legitimate demand to have the gang members tried in an international court. Such a step will lead the way for a political and peaceful process for the solution of the Syrian crisis.”
