YJA Star guerrilla invites women to the mountains of Kurdistan

A fighter of the women's guerrilla force YJA Star, Nûjîn Güneş, calls on Kurdish women to join the guerrilla's fight in the mountains.

The YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) fights in the mountains of Kurdistan. One of their fighters is Nûjîn Güneş. She spoke to ANF about the importance of women's guerrilla and women's struggle on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day.

"Capitalist modernity is in deep crisis"

"The system of capitalist modernity is in serious chaos and crisis," Güneş said. "Every day this crisis is getting worse and the system is not managing to get out of the crisis. Women have the power to change society, but their situation in this capitalist system is obvious. Rêber Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] expressed this again and again in his defence writings and created the model of democratic modernity as an alternative. He has experienced himself what it means to be a free human being and he is fighting with the utmost determination for this freedom to reach the whole world. We are convinced that we will make progress towards victory. The rulers see this and are directing all their might against Rêber Apo.

"Come to the mountains"

I would like to say the following to the Kurdish women and youth; standing up for the resistance struggle of Rêber Apo, our martyrs and our comrades and coming to the mountains is an extremely honourable attitude. Women and youth should protect the achievements of our leader and our martyrs like Sara, Bêrîtan and Têkoşîn and come to the mountains".
