Young women from Europe meet at Jineology workshop

The participants debated the exploitation of women in the existing system and called on all young women to step into action against it.

The Jineology workshop which brings together young Kurdish women living in Europe every year was held this year under the leadership of the Jineology committee and the Struggling Young Women (TekoJIN).

This year’s workshop was held in July in honour of ‘Martyr Zenda Ekin’.

Young women from all over Europe discussed Jineology (Women’s Science), the history of the Kurdish women's movement, war, the importance of patriotism and comradeship.

The participants debated the exploitation of women in the existing system and called on all young women to step into action against it.

The Jineology Committee and the Struggling Young Women released a statement about the workshop and said: “We must do everything we can to protect Kurdistan by following Martyr Zenda Ekin’s footsteps and her fighting power. Young women must reveal their courage and stand against patriarchy and capitalism. We must educate and organize ourselves and make sense of the values of the numerous young women who paid a price before us. Educating herself is the duty of every young woman. Creating a free and democratic society relies on the love and will of the people.”
