Call for participation in the International Kurdish Festival in Frankfurt

Co-chairs of KCDK-E and KON-MED called for participation in the 32nd International Kurdish Culture and Art Festival against isolation and occupation and said, “All our people should embrace their values, country and culture.”

The 32nd International Kurdish Culture and Art Festival will be celebrated on 21 September at Rebstockpark in Frankfurt, Germany. The motto of the festival, which is traditionally organised in Europe, is ‘Let's break the isolation and occupation, liberate Leader Öcalan.’

Zübeyde Zümrüt and Engin Sever, co-chairs of the Congress of Democratic Societies of Kurdistan in Europe (KCDK-E) and Ruken Akça and Kerem Gök, co-chairs of the Confederation of Kurdistan Societies in Germany (KON-MED), called for strong participation in the festival.

Zübeyde Zümrüt said: “Dear and honourable people, we are preparing for the Kurdish national and cultural festival again this year. We have completed all our technical preparations. We expect our people to meet in the festival area by tens of thousands. In response to the attacks on Kurdish culture and Kurdish existence, we call on you to join our own dance of freedom and revolution with hundreds of thousands in your national clothes against cultural genocide.”

Engin Sever stated: “Our aims and objectives are very big. For this reason, all our people should take part in this festival. Directed attacks are taking place against the whole of Kurdistan. There are attacks against Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Kurdistan and Shengal. All our people should embrace their values, country and culture. This year we dedicate the festival to the Zap resistance. We will come to the festival area and greet the freedom guerrilla. Let's condemn the isolation imposed on Leader Öcalan for 26 years and let's increase our struggle.”

Ruken Akça called for the festival in Rebstockpark to be celebrated against the attacks of annihilation and destruction and said: “Let's give a strong response together against the policy of destruction and annihilation against Kurdish culture and identity. Let's flow to the festival area in Frankfurt by thousands. On 21 September, we will join the freedom dance together in Frankfurt, Germany. The stronger the freedom dance is, the greater response it will be to the invading states that want to destroy the Kurdish people.”

Kerem Gök said: “This year the festival will take place in Frankfurt, in the Rebstock area. On behalf of KON-MED, we call on all our people to come to Frankfurt against cultural genocide, and to give a mass response.”
