Life has never been a holiday” is the title of an event which will be organized in Ankara on 21 April to call attention to the situation of arrested Kurdish children. The event which will take place before April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day is organized by the organization Justice for Children (ÇÝAT) which will tell the public opinion about Kurdish children’s arrests and their harassment in prison.

Giving information to ANF about the event and its purpose, ÇÝAT activist Dilan Yýlmaz says that the arrest of children should be considered as a problem in itself. Yýlmaz gives the following information on the forum event to be organized on April 21 in Ankara; “Various academicians, researchers, authors and lawyers will make speeches to tell and remember the stories of children. We will tell about the phases of what TMK victim children go through in prison”

Yýlmaz added that the event schedule also includes a “My Dream Room” titled painting exhibition of children from Van, Batman, Diyarbakýr, Urfa-Silvan and Suruç.

Yýlmaz called for participation in the event and added the followings; “Against the colorful images reflected by the mainstream media on April 23 Children's Day, we will demand justice for TMK victim children who are ignored by the state and the society and put behind bars in ice-cold buildings. If there is a day for children, all children in this country should be provided with equal circumstances for this feast day. We call for participation by everybody who wants to raise their voice against the unlawfulness imposed on arrested children.”

The activity by ÇÝAT will take place on April 21 in Su'dem restaurant on Konur Street between 13.00-17.00.
