Using every means available to offer opportunities to those who want to learn the Kurdish language or improve their language knowledge, Istanbul Kurdish Institute continues its works towards a more systematical program in the following term. The Institute will start language courses at Kurdish Language workshops after the forthcoming feast of sacrifice.
Especially university students show a great interest in the Institute which has 400 trainees and performs works in many areas such as Kirmanckî-Dimilkî, Translation, Research and Hiþmendî.
The Translation Commission of the Institute will be doing written and simultaneous translation, while the Research Commission will study language, history and literature and put these studies in writing. The commission of teachers, formed to give lessons in the dialect of Kirmanckî-Dimilkî, will analyze materials of this dialect and prepare new materials and documents for lessons. One other branch of the Institute is the Hiþmendî (Consciousness-raising) Commission which will enable the true recognition and spread of the Kurdish culture by telling the Kurdish language, literature and history at panels to be held once a month at different circles and institutions. The Translation Commission will do simultaneous translations during these panels that will mainly be in Kurdish.
The Kurdish Institute also opened many Kurdish Language workshops at universities, cultural centers and unions such as Özgür University, Arzela, Esenyurt Youth Cultural Center, Boðaziçi University, ÞAH-DER, KAY-DER, MED-DER, KÜL-DER, Kartal Eðitim Sen and Free Democratic Alewi Union (ÖDAH).
The Institute will separately publish bulletins which will consist of the Institute’s works and poems and stories written by trainees. Besides the bulletin, the Institute will also publish documents to introduce Kurdish intellectuals, writers and language workshops.
