Over a hundred people from the press and culture, lawyers and politicians were taken into custody in a massive detention operation carried out in 21 cities this morning.

The targets of the operation include cultural associations; Diyarbakır City Theatre and Dicle Culture and Art Association in Amed; the Mesopotamia Culture and Art Association in Mardin and Bahar Cultural Center in Batman.

Police forces broke the doors of the association and detained many artists and employees.

Those confirmed detanied in the operation include Devrim Demir, Yavuz Akkuzu, Elvan Köçer Yıldırım, Özcan Ateş, Sena Özbey, Şahperi Alphan Bayhan, Sadettin İnal, Kibar Suvari, Velat Ersin ve Kevve Çelik, Mesut Baskın.
