Journalist Nurcan Yalçın to appear at prosecutor's office today

The deposition procedure of detained journalist Nurcan Yalçın at the police station was completed on Sunday. It was learned that Yalçın was questioned about interviews and news she wrote in 2015.

Journalist Nurcan Yalçın was detained following a police raid on her home in Diyarbakır on 4 February. On Sunday, procedures for her statement to be made at the police station were completed. A 24-hour lawyer restriction decision was imposed on Yalçın, who was taken to the TEM Branch after being detained.

Her lawyer went to meet Yalçın on Saturday, after the 24-hour ban expired, but was told that he still could not see his client as a confidential decision was made on the file.

Yalçın was questioned by police on Sunday and it has been learned that she was asked about some video news consisting of interviews made before the curfews started in Sur, Diyarbakır, in 2015.

The journalist is expected to be transferred to the courthouse today to appear before the prosecutor's office.
