Families waiting to recover remains of children for 77 days

The families of HPG guerrillas Salih Ekinci and Izzet Yiğit, who fell martyr in Elazığ, cannot take their children’ remains. Families have been waiting for the result of the DNA test for 77 days.

The remains of HPG members Salih Ekinci (Devran Demir) and Izzet Yiğit (Firaz Amed), who fell martyr as the result of clashes in Elazığ 's Arıcak district on 9 June, have not yet been delivered to their families, although blood samples were given 77 days ago for DNA testing.

Elazığ Turkish Provincial Gendarmerie Command officials informed the families who were looking for their children, that they had lost their lives on 9 June.

Thereupon, both families went to Elazığ on 10 June and applied to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor to take their remains.

Families who were referred to Elazığ State Hospital for DNA testing after the application gave blood samples but have been waiting for the test result for 77 days.
