IHD denounces worsening of ill prisoner Ali Kuş condition

The Freedom for Ill Prisoners Initiative drew attention to the situation of Ali Kuş, who is held in Tarsus No 3 Type Closed Prison.

During the 312nd week of action by the Initiative, Human Rights Association (IHD) Ankara Branch executive Nuray Çevirmen said that Kuş underwent two surgeries in Mersin Toros State Hospital due to a serious problem on in his stomach in 2015, and added that he experienced excessive weight loss due to feeding difficulty.

Çevirmen said that in 2016, Kuş was referred to Mersin University Health Research and Practice Hospital due to congestions in the chest and problems in breathing and detailed examinations were started.

Çevirmen added that Kuş's heart stopped twice during the surgery. "Considering the severity of his condition and the danger of the pandemic, we believe that Kuş  should be released to continue his treatment outside in a safer environment.”
