Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander-in-Chief Mazlum Abdi made a statement on social media, saying, "We continue to be committed to a comprehensive ceasefire in Syria, and we are also ready to propose the establishment of a demilitarized zone in Kobanê."

The statement added: "Reaffirming our firm commitment to achieving a comprehensive ceasefire throughout Syria, we announce our readiness to propose the establishment of a demilitarized zone in the city of Kobanê, with the redeployment of security forces under American supervision and presence. This initiative aims to address Turkey’s security concerns and ensure lasting stability in the region."
