The curfew declared on March 14 in Şırnak is still in place, even though the clashes have ended. 90% of the population had to move from the city, which is torn down with bulldozers and homes and shops are looted.

Around 10 thousand residents of Şırnak who don’t want to leave the city have been living in tents in the skirts of Cudi and Gabar mountains for the last seven months. With the weather turning cold, life in these tents is now getting much harder.

More challenging times lie ahead of the Şırnak residents who are living in summer tents in cold weather.

Heyva Sor a Kurdistane has launched a campaign in solidarity with the Şırnak people and invited everyone to provide material support to buy winter tents, stoves and blankets for the displaced residents.

Heyva Sor a Kurdistane stated that "Due to the attacks of the Turkish state, around 1000 families residing in Şırnak city centre moved to Dergül region close to Şırnak, 1500 families to Qileban, 1000 families to Silopi, 400 families to Cizîr, 400 families to Basê Germav region, 400 families to Eruh and 2000 families to Siirt. These people continue their lives in tents and huts under pretty challenging circumstances. These people are in urgent need of winter tents, stoves, mattresses and blankets.”
