Kurdish artist taken to undisclosed location after arrest by Iranian forces in Maku

The Iranian regime's repression of the Kurdish population continues unabated.

Ministry of Intelligence agents arrested Hassan Ahmadi, a Kurdish artist from Maku, on 27 April, taking him to an undisclosed location.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported that the agents raided Ahmadi’s home and arrested him without a warrant after searching the property.

Despite repeated efforts by Ahmadi’s family to find out about his fate, the security and judicial authorities have so far refused to provide any information about his situation.

Previously, Ahmadi’s nieces, Sarya and Avin Ahmadi and Rojbin Afsoun, were arrested by security forces during Newroz celebrations in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province, and were released after a period of detention.
