The Women Militias of Fire and Sun (Milîsên Jin ên Agir û Rojê) have announced their decision to remain inactive following Öcalan’s call for Peace and a Democratic Society.

In their statement, they conveyed their decision to remain inactive to all units of the organization with the following message:

 "As the Women Militias of Fire and Sun, we have expanded our struggle against the denialist and patriarchal mindset in all areas. We congratulate all our militia members and comrades who stand with us.

In line with our Leader's (Abdullah Öcalan) call and based on the Party’s ceasefire decision, effective as of March 1, 2025, we call upon our militias, militia-affiliated units, and comrades in Kurdistan and Turkey to enter a period of inaction. Undoubtedly, in the face of potential attacks, our forces have the fundamental right to self-defense and to take action within the framework of legitimate defense.

Our forces also retain the right to retaliate against continuous assaults. Extreme caution must be taken in response to potential provocations, and necessary measures must be implemented. We have full confidence that all comrades will act responsibly in accordance with this decision."
