5.0 magnitude earthquake in Elazığ

A 5.0 magnitude earthquake has struck the Elazığ province in eastern Turkey.

Boğaziçi University Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute announced the epicenter of the earthquake as the village of Kabala in Sivrice district.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 5,5 km at around 20:53 local time. While the earthquake was also felt in the surrounding cities, no damage has been reported yet.

An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude in Sivrice claimed the life of 41 people on January 24.
