A 6 year old child was detained and fingerprinted by police in Malatya.

According to the information received, Mehmet A.,living in Malatya, made an application to Prime Ministry Human Rights Presidency and stated that his grandchild shoved over the child of a neighbor during a fight and was taken to Police Office, fingerprinted and then released.

With the grievance of Mehmet A., who remarked that his grandchild felt much frightened, Prime Ministry Human Rights Presidency sent a letter to Malatya Provincial Human Rights Committee.

Following Malatya Provincial Human Rights Committee’s discussion about the subject at the June meeting, it was concluded that the subject will be investigated by National Education Directorate and Police Office.
