Qamishlo Canton co-chair Yusra Darwish, her deputy Liman Sweish and their driver, Fırat Tûma, were killed when a Turkish drone hit the car they were traveling in. The Turkish attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria were protested in Bern.

Kurds and their friends came together at Bahnhofplatz and held a minute's silence in memory of the martyrs killed by the Turkish state.

Then Bern Martyr Atakan Mahir Assembly Spokesperson Burhan Karakoç said; “The massacres carried out by the Turkish state have a history of one hundred years. The massacres can only be prevented by our struggle and resistance. We are fighting and we will continue fighting."

Demir Çelik, co-chair of the Democratic Alevi Federation, underlined that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne and said: “The Turkish state, together with other states, is increasing its pressure, persecution and killings of Kurds. As the pressure and isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan intensifies, they are also attacking Kurdistan.”

Çelik called on everyone to attend the actions that will be held in 7 cities today (Wednesday). The actions are promoted by the Swiss Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-S) and the Swiss Kurdish Women's Union (YJK-S).
