Banner demo for Jakob Riemer and Kevin Jochim in Hamburg

Internationalists Kevin Jochim (Dilsoz Bahar) and Jakob Riemer (Şiyar Gabar) who died in Kurdistan were remembered with a banner drop from a bridge in Hamburg. A joint commemoration will take place on Sunday.

Activists of the Kurdish youth movement (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger) remembered the internationalists Kevin Jochim (Dilsoz Bahar) and Jakob Riemer (Şiyar Gabar) who died in Kurdistan with a banner drop from a bridge in Hamburg. Kevin Jochim died on 6 July 2015 in northern Syria in resistance against ISIS, while Jakob Riemer was martyred on 9 July 2018 in Çarçella in northern Kurdistan as a fighter of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) during a military operation of the Turkish army. On Sunday, a commemoration event will take place in Hamburg at 6pm at the Centro Sociale (Feldstraße underground station). The event will commemorate Kevin Jochim and Jakob Riemer with music, stories, videos and pictures.

The youth activists in Hamburg are also inviting people to a celebration in front of the Rote Flora in Schanze from 3 pm today. The occasion is the tenth anniversary of the Rojava revolution. Similar celebrations are also taking place in many other cities.
