Constitutional Court blocks treasury grants to the HDP
The Constitutional Court of Turkey (AYM) has ruled to freeze the treasury aid to the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).
Treasury aid for the HDP has been blocked as the party faces a closure case by order of the government in Turkey.
Following a request tabled by the Supreme Court of Appeals Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Constitutional Court discussed a "temporary freezing" of HDP's treasury aid in the ongoing lawsuit demanding the closure of the party.
The Constitutional Court approved the request of the Court of Appeals and decided to temporarily block HDP’s treasury grants.
