Covid-19: 947 cases, 21 dead in Turkey

277 more coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Turkey during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number to 947.

Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced an increasing number of coronavirus infections in the country.

According to the latest figures the minister shared on Twitter, of the 2,953 people tested on Saturday, 277 have tested positive, bringing the total number to 947.

The minister announced that the pandemic has claimed the life of 12 elderly people today, with which the total number increased to 21.

“Let us warn the elderly people and let them comply with the ban on going out. The older the patients are, the more the risk of death increases,” he said.

Earlier today, Turkey has imposed a ban for citizens over 65 years of age and those with chronic diseases to go outside in an effort to contain the spread of the pandemic.
