Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten publishes full-page ad demanding freedom for Öcalan

The high-circulation newspaper Jyllands-Posten in Denmark published a full-page advert calling for ‘Freedom for Öcalan’ on the anniversary of the international conspiracy against the Kurdish people's leader.

The high-circulation newspaper Jyllands-Posten in Denmark published a full-page advert calling for "Freedom for Öcalan" on the anniversary of the international conspiracy against the Kurdish people's leader.

The newspaper, which has 20 million daily followers, draws attention to the  conditions of isolation that Abdullah Öcalan lives in, describes the systematic persecution of the Kurdish people and opposition carried out by Turkish President Erdogan. The advert also underlined the work carried out for the freedom of the Kurdish people's leader and recalled that hundreds of personalities from around the world of politics, art, rights, law and academia supported the Freedom for Öcalan campaign also in Denmark. The ad also briefly explained the guidelines of the Democratic Confederalism model drawn up by Abdullah Öcalan.

At the end of the announcement, it was stated that a more comprehensive effort is needed to achieve the freedom of the Kurdish people's leader, and Denmark was asked to play an active role in the struggle for democracy in Turkey.
