Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Committee (MYK) issued a written statement on the 23rd anniversary of the international conspiracy against Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The HDP condemned the conspiracy and said: "The powers that drew the borders of the sovereign states in the Middle East a century ago devised a conspiracy against Mr. Öcalan, who is the architect of the idea that can give hope to the peoples a century later."
'The conspiracy hit the people'
The statement added: "Mr. Öcalan's idea, based on the common struggle and liberation of the peoples in the Democratic Middle East, has been decisive in the decision which led to this regional and international intervention. The 9 October conspiracy is a blow to Mr. Öcalan's ideas that may inspire the peoples of the Middle East to struggle for freedom and the Middle East, especially the Kurdish people. It is also the beginning of a major intervention towards the common future of all peoples.
The conspiracy actually targeted the common future of the country and the responsible of the conspiracy tried to stir a civil war by bringing the Kurdish and Turkish people against each other. However, Mr. Öcalan, with his stance in Imrali and the democratic solution paradigm he developed, thwarted this dirty and dangerous attempt and showed that the peoples of Turkey can get out of this trap and vortex of uncertainty through peace, democracy and dialogue."
The HDP said: "It was not only Öcalan who was imprisoned in Imrali, but also Turkey's social peace and the free life option of peoples in his person."
'If isolation is broken, fascism will collapse'
The HDP ended its statement with the following remarks: "Breaking this isolation imposed on Mr. Öcalan in Imrali, an isolation that violates both Turkish own law as well as international law, will also break the chain of fascism that has surrounded the peoples of Turkey. We once again condemn the 9 October International Conspiracy. In order to break the isolation in Turkey, we call on all people with conscience and responsibility, who are concerned about democracy and peace, to embrace the will for peace, democracy and freedom expressed by Mr. Öcalan."
