Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Group deputy chair Meral Danış Beştaş, her driver Mehmet Vefa and a party member whose name has not been learned, had a traffic accident in the Karayazı (Qereyazi) district of Erzurom, where she had gone to carry out election work. Beştaş, who was stuck in the vehicle, was removed by the firefighters. Beştaş was said to be in serious condition but not life-threatening and was taken to Erzurum State Hospital by ambulance.
Driver Vefa and the other party member, who did not sustain serious injuries, were also hospitalized.
