Eyüp Zengin, applying to the Human Rights Association in Turkey (IHD) stated that his brother Halil Zengin and a relative of theirs Yýlmaz Uçar who were seeking asylum in Japan have been imprisoned and kept under inhumane conditions.
Eyüp Zengin also stated that he could speak with his brother on the phone for 10 minutes only who sought asylum with Yýlmaz Uçar in japan where they travelled via Russia. He further stated that there is no legal basis for his brother and relative to be held in custody as they are not being charged with any criminal acts.
Zengin further stated that his brother and the relative are under a constant psychical and psychological pressure, deprived of medical care and given phone call permission six months after their arrest. He also stated that they were even not provided with a Turkish speaking interpreter.
He further stated that in the prison where the brother and the relative are being kept 7 inmates committed suicide in the last 6 months and the Japanese authorities are deliberately dragging them to suicide.
The family applied UN and IHD to take actions for the imprisoned asylum seekers.
