KON-MED calls for participation in the twin family campaign

The Kurdish umbrella organisation KON-MED calls for strong participation in the twin family campaign of Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê, so that needy families in Kurdistan can survive the Corona pandemic.

The Confederation of Kurdistan Societies in Germany (Konfederasyona Civakên Kurdistanîyên li Almanya, KON-MED) calls for participation in the twin family campaign of the Kurdish Red Crescent organization Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê. The aim of the campaign is to help needy families in Kurdistan against the Corona pandemic, so that the economic problems can be overcome.

"For years, the Kurdish people have defended themselves against the genocidal attacks of the Turkish state and other sovereign countries, selflessly resisting, never thinking of surrender and never submitting at any time in order to protect their existence. The Kurdish people have a culture of solidarity, and Kurds living in Europe have always reached out their national consciousness to those who needed help in difficult times. Whether in massacres in Sur, Cizre, Nusaybin and Şırnak, or in the devastating earthquake in Kurdistan. Now is the time again to take practical steps to make the culture of solidarity visible," the appeal says.

The statement continued: “As KON-MED actively supports the campaign, all regional local associations in Germany as well as many of their members have already become sponsors of families in Kurdistan. In order that the help can reach all people torn by wars and occupation, especially in Northern Kurdistan, in the Maxmur Camp and Shengal in Southern Kurdistan, the Shehba region in Rojava as well as in Eastern Kurdistan (Iran), KON-MED also appeals to the solidarity of friendly organisations and individuals and calls for a common implementation of the campaign.”
