Kurds call for participation in action to mark 100th anniversary of Treaty of Lausanne on Monday

A call for participation in the action to be held in Lausanne on 21 November, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne, was made in the protest that has been going on for nearly two years in front of the UN Office in Geneva.

The sit-in held by Kurds living in Switzerland continues in the Place des Nations square in Geneva, where the United Nations (UN) Office is located. Activists demand the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Seyid Rıza and his friends were commemorated on the 85th anniversary of their execution, in the sit-in that has been held every Wednesday since 25 January 2021.

Veysel Dalgıç on behalf of the Geneva Democratic Kurdish Community Center (CDK) read the press statement in Kurdish.

Geneva CDK co-chairs Mülkiye Asırbayev and Erdal Atasoy also spoke at the action.

Mulkiye Asirbayev touched upon the genocidal attack that started with the absolute isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and is being carried out today with inhumane methods against the Kurdish people, and condemned the silence of international forces and institutions.

Erdal Atasoy called for participation in the press conference to be held in Lausanne on Monday, 21 November, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne. The actions will start with a call for national unity with the participation of Kurds from four parts.

Atasoy called for participation in the 44th anniversary celebration of the PKK, which will be held in Lucerne on Saturday 19 November.
