"Leyla Güven’s demands are our demands"

Solidarity actions with the hunger strikes launched to demand an end to the isolation against Abdullah Öcalan are taking place all over Europe.

The cities of Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux and Vienna all promoted different actions to show support to HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven who is on hunger strike for 75 days in Amed prison to demand the end to the isolation against the Kurdish people’s Leader.

Paris

A march and a rally were held to draw attention to the situation of DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari deputy Leyla Güven in the French capital Paris.

Members of the Kurdish Democratic Movement (CDK-F) and the French Women's Movement (TJK-F) promoted the rally which was attended by Kurds, ACTIT, SKB representatives, French elected and party representatives.

Addressing the crowd at Plaze de la Republique, France Communist Party MEPs Patrick and Hayric, coordinator of the Left Party, Danielle Simonnet, Left Party deputy Eric Cocrel, underlined that the situation of Leyla Güven is very serious and said it is crucial to take immediate action.

A rally was held in Chatelet Square. CDK-F co-chair Vedat Bingöl and representative of Kurdish Women's Movement in France, Berivan Fırat said that Leyla Güven has reached the verge of death.

Bordeaux

In Bordeaux Kurds and their friends promoted a march to condemn the isolation against Öcalan and urged that Leyla Güven's demands be fulfilled as soon as possible.

Marseille

In Marseille the protest against the isolation imposed on Öcalan was promoted by Tevgera Ciwanen Şoreşger (Revolutionary Youth Movement).

Solidarity with hunger strikers in Strasbourg, Hewlêr as well as with Leyla Güven, who has been on hunger strike for 75 days, have been reiterated.

Approximately 2 thousand people participated in the march.

The invasion of Afrin was also condemned on the day of the first anniversary of the occupation carried out by Turkey and its mercenary allies.

A rally was held after the march. Dilek Öcalan, a Kurdish female politician who has been on hunger strike in Strasbourg, joined the march and addressed the crowd via telephone.

Then Kurdish politician Xebat Öcalan spoke and called for endorsement of the resistance.

Vienna

An information stand was opened to draw attention to hunger strike actions led by Leyla Güven in Austria's capital Vienna.

The information stand organized by the Vienna DKTM was opened at Stephansplatz.

Öcalan and Güven's posters were hanged at the stand.
