Spokesman of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Major General Ahmed al-Mismari announced that the Government of National Accord (GNA) militias have attacked the city of Tarhouna southeast of Tripoli.
According to Mismari, the bombardment of GNA militias with around 20 grad missiles targeted the civilian locations in the city.
“We call upon the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to perform their duties and condemn the real terrorists who just committed a war crime,” said the LNA spokesman and warned that they were ready to retaliate.
According to an SOHR (Syrian Observatory for Human Rights) report published today, Turkish intelligence has begun to transfer new batches of Turkish-backed factions from the Syrian area of Tal Abyad (Girê Spî) into Turkish territory, in order to transfer them to Libya.
According to Observatory sources, Turkish intelligence has asked the commanders of “National Army” to introduce new lists containing the names of hundreds of fighters to be sent to Libya to fight. The “National Army”, in turn, has instructed its factions to do so, and several factions have submitted lists of names exceeding 2,200 names to date, most notably “Ahrar al-Sharqi”, “Al Sharqia Army”, “Sultan Murad” and other factions.
Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that the command of the Turkish-backed “National Army” is still suspending funds for “Al-Rahman Corps”, whose fighters are from eastern Ghouta and Homs province.
According to SOHR sources, the Corps’ sources of funding have been blocked after dodging from responding to the National Army’s request, ordered by Turkey, regarding lists including names of fighters of “Al-Rahman Corps” to be sent for fighting on the side of the “Government of National Accord” in Libya.
As a result, the Turkish-backed “National Army” has stopped funding “Al-Rahman Corps” for nearly two months and reduced amounts of food and ammunition allocated for the Corps.
“It is noteworthy that fighters of “Al-Rahman Corps” have left to Libya individually after being recruited by Turkey, since they were shipped with other mercenaries for fighting for Turkey’s interests there”, SOHR said.
